•Where have you relocated to?
•What is your current technology setup for zoom?
•What are you most worried about in general?
•How can this class in particular help?
This is where you should leave your comment. I’m at home in San Antonio with my wife and mother and our 4 cats. I have multiple possible zoom setups. I have dual monitors on windows and linux and a macbook air that I might try out. Also a gaming headset and regular earbuds with a mic. In general I guess worried about all the technology mishaps that will probably happen, but it will be fine eventually, it will just be a learning/experimental learning time for a little while. I want to hear from everyone to see and hear how yall are doing. I like that we have WordPress as a backup for asynchronous interactions but if we’re all going to be quarantined for the rest of the semester it will be great to hear and share stuff.

I am currently in Dallas Texas with my family. My zoom setup is on my laptop in my bed. I am worried about my internet connection since it is being shared by my entire family at the same time. I am also worried about the distractions and new challenges that come with being back with my family. I think if we are all patient then problems will not arise.

I have relocated back home in Dallas with my family, excluding my sister. Dallas is now on a sheltered lockdown so people can only go to essential places, and if they’re outside, they have to stay 6 feet away from everyone. I just have my laptop and Bose earbuds for the zoom calls. I am most worried about finding motivation to still do well in school, I think I’m doing ok right now. Im not too sure how this class can help in this time.

I am still in San Antonio as it is were I am from. I have a desktop where I will be using Zoom at, but I do not have a web cam. I am just worried about some of the program requirements for projects, but I believe that I can get by using VDI. What i think can help is just frequent updates and contact through email about our class plans and situation.

I’ve moved back home to Austin and will stay here for the remainder of the semester. I am using my desktop to connect to class, using my headset to chat. I do not have a webcam. I am most worried about staying motivated to do work. It seems really easy to just blow everything off since we’re in such an informal environment. I think this class can help me to stay informed about current events and remind me about how our media consumption varies in times of crisis.

I’m relocated to my house in New Braunfels, 30 minutes from campus. I have a laptop and good wifi and I’m just chillin in my room. I’m most worried about lack of communication. Just please try to email us and keep us updated if things change.

I have relocated back home in Calabasas, California and am doing all my classes on Zoom. I am mainly using my computer to access Zoom and I also have my iPad to take notes and view videos/slides for our class. In general, I am most worried about balancing all my classes online and how different everything is going to be. All of my teachers have been really understanding and willing to help/support in any way they can which is great. This class is set up very well organized because of the agendas and communication is strong among all of us so just basically just keep doing what we are used to will help me specifically. This class is really fun and interesting so I think this new transition will be manageable for this class in particular.

I’m in Austin Texas, trapped in this house and very bored and sad. None of my boys wanna hang because one of my friends actually has COVID-19 so that’s pretty sketch. I have my mac and thats what I’ll be doing all my classes on. I’m worried about how this will effect my year and my sister’s senior year, as her prom and spring break were already cancelled and her graduation is soon to follow. I like this zoom stuff because I get to see the people I miss.

I have relocated to my Grandparents’ home in Georgetown, TX. I currently am using my MacBook for my technology setup. I’m most worried about being able to stay focused in this online classroom setup. This first meeting has assured me that it will be a little easier than previously thought to stay focused. I like that this class is staying interactive!

I am currently back at home in Mississippi, but I might be returning to San Antonio in a few weeks to live with my roommates again. I am using my laptop in my dining room for class so that I can have a bigger table to use in a quieter place in my house. I am worried about not having the same experience of learning and having it reflect in my grades. It is also very distracting to be home while taking classes and doing work. I miss being able to go to the library to study or focus. I think it helps to have the agenda up so we can be prepared for class before joining Zoom every class.

I am currently at my house in Huffman which is a suburb of Houston. I currently have been using Zoom on an iPad that way I can still use my laptop on the side. I am most worried about how long this disease is going to go and be a problem for people. I don’t know of a way this class can particularly help. I just want people to be understanding with others.

I have relocated to Dallas/Fort Worth, specifically to Keller, Texas, with my mom, dad, and brother. My current technology setup for zoom is fine; it seems to be working with my other classes. My wifi seems to work fine, I have a webcam, and there hasn’t been any issues so far. I’m most worried about how asking questions about papers and work over zoom will be, since office hours will be different and it may be more difficult to understand assignments and papers through a simple rubric on tlearn. I’m also worried, of course, about how long this coronavirus shutdown will last, since so many places are closed and we are all stuck at home. This class in particular can help with understanding media and current events around us (ex. coronavirus), as we discuss many current issues and advertisements in the news and on Twitter, Instagram, etc.

I am currently at my house in San Antonio as a pretend only child as my siblings are much older but will be moving to a different home in a week with my suite mates from Trinity. I have my laptop as my set up for zoom at my desk. I am most worried about miscommunication with teachers as we are receiving tons of notifications from every direction. As well I am trying to balance family with school in a more tight area as opposed to being at school. I am also interested to see how this will be in a house of four students but I am assuming it won’t be to bad.I think this class is already convenient with the agenda on word press so that eases my worries a little bit.

I’ve relocated to Fair Oaks Ranch, a small city just outside of Boerne, TX. I currently have one setup for zoom but could find a second one (I’d just have to ask my host). I have a computer and AirPods (they are temperamental) and may be able to find a desktop computer as a back-up. I’m not really concerned about anything except figuring out when I’m going to get home (Dubai is on lock-down and I can’t get into the UAE for next couple of weeks). I like that we have zoom as an alternative to being in class as we still get to interact with our classmates even during the quarantine.

I have moved back to my home in California. The actual city is Placentia, which is in the northern part of Orange County. I have Zoom downloaded on my computer and phone, but am going to use it on my computer primarily. The wifi in my house doesn’t quite reach the work area that I have set up in my bedroom, so I am planning on working in either my parent’s office space when they aren’t there or in their bedroom (since it is closer to the modem). I am worried mostly about making sure I am still learning the things that I need to learn since no Trinity students are near me as well as managing my workload given the fact that I’ll be mostly at home with 4 other people. Also the fact that my 8:30 class will now be at 6:30 since I am two hours behind. This class I feel that I will have all the tools that I need except for maybe some help operating some Adobe systems since most of my familiarity with Apple systems like iMovie.

I am home in fort worth with all of my family. I am excited because my parents are letting me get a dog. I have my zoom set up on my laptop with headphones and I also downloaded the app on my phone. My dad is working on getting faster internet and hopefully that will be better soon. I am most worried about doing projects if we have a group project. I am also glad we have WordPress and it has been reassuring to me.

I have moved back home to Houston, Tx. My parents just bought a new house so I am between two houses at the moment. I am currently operating off my Macbook Air and seem to have pretty good wifi. I am most worried about getting distracted and not being able to [ay attention in class during class time. I am hopeful it will turn out to be a good semester.

I am back home up near Fort Worth. I am using my niece’s room as my office because I don’t have a desk in my room. I have my phone, a macbook air, nd a windows computer. I am worried about the disease and how at risk I may be due to my asthma, and my parents aren’t taking the whole quarantine thing seriously. I also just worried about classwork and staying motivated while in a new environment. This class helps because the flow of the class is still pretty similar to how it was before so the consistency is helping.

I packed my things up at school and made the fifteen minute drive home where my house is currently being renovated. I’m set up on my MacBook which is working so far, but one of my concerns comes with having the necessary resources, like access to adequate technology for all of my classes. More than anything I think this class will help by providing a platform to experiment with virtual learning so I can determine what works best for me.

I have relocated back to my house in Austin. I am with my parents working from home. I am using my MacBook Air to connect to zoom and relying on computer audio but have headphones if needed. In general I am worried about motivation for school while working from home. Although I have lots of extra time, trying to focus in one place has already become challenging. Also resources such as peers are less conveniently accessible so I am more concerned about my success in classes but I hope professors are more understandable in terms of grades. I am less concerned about this class because of the specific content and ability to still learn the information necessary through lecture on zoom.

I am at home in New Orleans. I am using zoom on my laptop. In general, I guess I am worried about how it might be hard to hear people or if my internet will hold up. I think that this class will help us to adapt to a different learning environment and and learn to be more flexible about our environment and learning style.

I have been sent back home to Dallas Texas. My current zoom setup is in my bedroom on my laptop and the wifi is pretty bad especially with my whole family using it at once. I am worried my connection will fail for an extended period of time and I won’t be able to get the info I need for class, I am also worried about the new distractions and challenges being at home with family possesses on my academic life. In the end I think as long as teachers and students are patient with each other there will be no major issues. Everyone has a different setup and a different situation to deal with.

I’m living at home with my parents in San Antonio. I have a laptop I’m using for classes on Zoom. I’m most worried about how long this will last, and the implications of COVID 19 for certain parts of the population (people at risk of getting the virus, people who work, those in prisons/detention centers, and those with housing/food insecurity). Also, my parents are pretty conservative and think it’s not a big deal, so there’s that. Hopefully, this class and my other classes can get my mind off some of this stuff throughout the next few weeks.

I am currently at my mom’s house in Brownsville, Tx. My experience with zoom has recently begun with the transition to online learning. I am having minor difficulties in navigating through this process especially with internet failures. My mom is currently working from home too so I’ve already experienced some internet crashes. As of right now, I am most worried about how long the virus will continue for. I am worried that if the virus spreads more, we will not be able to resume classes in the fall. I believe this class can help us navigate all the media being posted on coronavirus. Yet, I know we can’t go over every single media for coronavirus works but I would love for us to go over it and be able to understand it.

I have relocated to Northern California. In terms of the virus I’m most concerned about my parents and grandma. My 13 year old cousin in New York (Brooklyn) just found out he has corona and we’ve been keeping check on him. Luckily, he is young and seems to be doing ok, but the uncertainty in this situation is super scary.

I am most worried about my grades suffering because of this change or that I will not be able to improve grades from where I was early in the semester.
